Faded Undulation Shawl

Select five colors and fade them from light to dark in this easy to knit garter stitch shawl. Begin at the corner and knit sideways while working increases and decreases to form the waves. Eyelets decorate the fabric and a soft fluidity to the fabric. I-cord edges frame the asymmetrical triangle shape for a crisp clean look. The pattern is written for five colorways, but you can use as many colors as you like. The size is easy to customize by binding off early for a shorter shawl or knit more pattern repeats for a large luxurious shlanket.

Finished Measurements
60″ / 152cm wingspan length, 42″ / 107cm at widest part. Measurements taken after blocking.

You can create a larger shawl by continuing the pattern repeat as many times as you like. If you work more pattern repeats for a larger than recommended size, you will need more than the specified yardage requirements.

    ⚜️Merino Linen Fingering

This yarn combines merino and linen in a SINGLE ply for exquisite drape and texture.  The linen varies in thickness and resists the dye, producing a linen "halo," perfect for transitional seasons (or every season here in Texas!).  This is an elegant, but "rustic" yarn.   Expect some "white" areas - a tweedy effect, that's the linen, which resists the dye.

It can sometimes be a little "sticky" (from the linen hairs and bc it's single ply) so be slow when caking it up.

    • 90% Superwash Merino (21.5 micron) & 10% Linen
    • Single Ply
    • Approximately 100 grams/360 meters or (3.5 oz/ 393 to 394yards)
    • Recommended Needle Size 2.5 mm - 4mm
    • Gauge (Stockinette) 28 stitches x 35 rows over 10 cm/4 inches on 3.25mm (US 3) Needles

⚜️Hand dyed in Texas in small batches

⚜️Please hand wash in cold water and lay flat to dry for best color retention.  Dyes may bleed slightly on initial washing.  Always test your gauge swatch for dyes bleeding when combining colors.
